SVHP is awarding two $1000 grants available to students wishing to attend the 2026 SVHP Annual Meeting. This student travel awards seek to encourage membership and active involvement in SVHP on a student level.
Student Travel Program Description:
The purpose of the Student Travel Award is to provide support to students to attend the SVHP Annual Meeting. Please submit your application by 5:00 PM on March 31, 2026. Awards will be announced by April 1, 2026 and funding will be available soon after. The recipient will be required to present a poster at the SVHP Annual Meeting. Failure to attend the SVHP Annual Meeting means the awardee must pay back the full award amount ($1000). Funding may only be used to assist the student in travel-related expenses including transportation (airfare, taxi, parking), conference registration, poster printing, and hotel/lodging. All receipts must be submitted to Counsel within 30 days following the annual meeting. Up to two Student Travel Grants will be awarded annually.
Applications should describe the student’s background and interest in veterinary medicine as well as how they feel financial help attending the SVHP Annual Meeting will help further their career aspirations. a. Students may only be awarded this grant once to ensure many students have the opportunity for financial assistance in attending this meeting.
Recipients will be required to present a poster at the SVHP Annual Meeting on a topic of their choice but must disclose/discuss their planned topic in the grant submission. The grant committee reserves the right to help guide the student on their chosen topic.
Eligibility:
Must be a full time professional student in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th years (i.e. pharmacy student, veterinary student) and in good academic standing.
Application Specifications:
Personal Statement: Justify how you will use the Research Travel award by including, but not limited to, the importance of this travel to your professional advancement
Estimated Budget: on a separate document, discuss specific items (listed above) the money will be used to cover and how much will be allocated to each item
